Yves Saint Laurent crowds the top of Y with five separate materials, an intensely layered opening for a fragrance built around the single-letter name's minimalist branding. Aldehydes, bergamot, ginger, mint and lemon crowd the opening into a bright, powdery-spiced freshness that contrasts with the name's simplicity. Apple, violet leaf, pineapple, sage and geranium build an unusually full middle, fruity and herbal at once, adding noticeable complexity as the composition develops. Ambergris, musk, cedar, balsam fir, incense and vetiver wrap things up warm and resinous, giving Y Eau de Toilette serious staying power once fully developed. Aromatic fresh is the fitting classification, versatile enough for daytime wear while holding up comfortably into evening. It suits professional settings, casual outings and dinners about equally well. Fall and winter favor the incense and balsam close most, though the citrus top keeps it wearable into spring. You may return any unopened merchandise in its original condition, including original sealed packaging within 30 days of invoice date and you will receive a full refund, less shipping and gift-wrapping charges.
