Elizabeth Taylor

Passion Cologne Eau De Cologne - For Men

Fourteen materials crowd the middle stage of White Diamonds, an extraordinarily dense stretch for a fragrance released decades before modern maximalist florals became common. Aldehydes, lily, neroli, orange and bergamot open with a bright, powdery freshness typical of classic-style perfumery from its era. Egyptian tuberose, jasmine, ylang-ylang, narcissus, carnation, Italian orris root, Turkish rose and cinnamon build an enormous floral middle, rich and spiced, the kind of density rarely attempted today. Musk, amber, sandalwood, oakmoss and patchouli close things out warm and grounded, giving White Diamonds Eau de Toilette its signature powdery, long-lasting conclusion. Floral aldehydic is the fitting classification, polished enough for evening wear yet workable on a cooler daytime occasion too. Elizabeth Taylor built this for formal events, dinners and any occasion calling for old-school glamour. Fall and winter favor the amber and sandalwood close most, though the floral middle holds its own presence regardless of season. Few fragrances from its era still command this kind of name recognition decades later.

Twenty-six materials work across three stages of Passion, an extraordinarily dense structure for a fragrance built entirely around classic spiced orientals. Aldehydes, coriander, gardenia, artemisia, ylang-ylang, bergamot and lily of the valley crowd the opening into a bright, powdery burst typical of classic-style perfumery from its era. Spicy notes, sandalwood, honey, tuberose, patchouli, heliotrope, orris root, cedar, jasmine and rose build an enormous floral middle, rich and spiced, the kind of density rarely attempted today. Incense, civet, leather, oakmoss, sandalwood, musk, cedar, vanilla and coconut round things out dark and resinous, giving Passion Eau de Toilette its signature dense, long-lasting finish. Oriental is the fitting classification on its own, dense enough for evening wear while remaining workable on a cooler afternoon. Elizabeth Taylor built this for formal events, dinners and any occasion calling for old-school glamour. Fall and winter favor the resinous, leathery close most, though the floral middle holds its own presence regardless of season. Few fragrances from its era still command this kind of structural ambition decades later.

The same idea as White Diamonds gets turned down a few notches for Brilliant White Diamonds Perfume from Elizabeth Taylor, tuberose and mandarin orange lending the top a bright, creamy character, the tuberose arriving immediately rather than waiting its turn. Lily, honeysuckle and Bulgarian rose make up a soft white floral heart, generous yet weightless, softly luminous throughout. Musk, sandalwood and vanilla finish it warm and gently sweet. The tuberose is dialled back rather than removed, and that restraint is the entire difference between this and the fragrance it flanks. Projection stays deliberately modest throughout. Eight materials rather than a crowded twenty, and the reduction pays off in its favour, making this considerably lighter and easier to wear than its more famous namesake, with the same glamorous DNA. As a floral Eau de Toilette, Brilliant White Diamonds Perfume finds its natural home in office hours and casual dates. Brilliant White Diamonds Perfume is a fragrance that earns repeat wear.

Excess gets handled with a fairly straight face in Elizabeth Taylor Diamonds and Emeralds Perfume, gardenia, peach, apricot, hyacinth, orange blossom, white rose, water lily, mandarin orange and sage arriving as a full wall of fruit and flowers up top. Tuberose, jasmine, magnolia, lily, carnation, lily of the valley and rose pile a second layer of white florals directly on top. Vanilla, amber, tonka bean, musk and patchouli close it in thick, sweet warmth. Sage in the top is the only restrained gesture anywhere in the composition. Twenty one notes is a lot by any measure, and the composition works by sheer accumulated impact rather than by giving anything room to register individually. Diamonds And Emeralds Perfume, a floral fruity Eau de Toilette, is built for spring and summer daytime hours.

The White Diamonds idea gets rendered in a lighter key here, Sparkling White Diamonds Perfume from Elizabeth Taylor, lily, gardenia and neroli giving the top a bright, creamy character, the neroli adding a clean citrus edge the original never had. Narcissus, jasmine and rose make up a core that is floral and slightly green, the narcissus adding a hay like sharpness beneath the softer flowers. Musk, amber and woodsy notes settle it warm and gently sweet, close to the skin. Nine notes rather than a crowded twenty, and the reduction is the whole point, producing something noticeably easier to wear while keeping the family resemblance intact. It sparkles cleanly rather than loudly. Sparkling White Diamonds Perfume belongs to brunch dates and garden parties, a floral Eau de Toilette through and through. Reach for Sparkling White Diamonds Perfume again and again without ever tiring of it.
