Two forms of bergamot open Myslf before Tunisian orange blossom takes over entirely on its own through the heart, a minimal structure for a flagship Yves Saint Laurent release. Calabrian bergamot and bergamot introduce the composition together, doubling down on a single citrus idea rather than layering in additional top notes. Tunisian orange blossom carries the entire heart by itself, floral and slightly honeyed, giving the fragrance its most distinctive stretch of development. Ambrofix and patchouli settle into the base, smooth and earthy, closing the composition on a modern, understated note. Floral woody fits this fragrance well, versatile enough for office wear and evening plans without leaning too heavily in either direction. Myslf Cologne suits daytime professional settings, casual outings, and low-key evening plans about equally. Given how few notes carry this entire structure, Yves Saint Laurent manages real depth from what amounts to bergamot, orange blossom and two base materials total. Spring and fall suit it well, avoiding both summer heat and deep winter cold. Anyone who prefers restrained, minimalist fragrances over dense, maximalist ones should find Myslf a compelling, modern example of doing considerably more with less.
