One of the densest bases in this catalog waits beneath Good Girl, eleven notes deep, though nothing about its opening hints at that scale. Almond, coffee, bergamot and lemon introduce the composition with a bittersweet, faintly roasted brightness, lighter and more citrus-forward than anything that follows. From there, tuberose, jasmine sambac, orange blossom, Bulgarian rose and orris take hold, forming an intensely full white-floral core that runs heady and lush, pulling the fragrance in a far more feminine direction than the top notes suggested. Tonka bean, cacao, vanilla, praline, sandalwood, musk, amber, cashmere wood, patchouli, cinnamon and cedar make up an extraordinarily dense dry-down, warm and gourmand, and it's this stage that gives Good Girl Eau de Parfum its serious staying power. The classification here is floral gourmand, rich enough for evening wear yet still wearable on a cooler afternoon. Good Girl Perfume fits dinners, celebrations and any cold-weather occasion that calls for considerable richness. Few fragrances in this catalog show as wide a gap between a light, roasted start and a dense, layered close. The cacao and cashmere wood in that dry-down become especially comforting once fall and winter arrive. Good Girl delivers convincingly on gourmand complexity from a well-known name, a combination harder to find than it should be.
