Description

Praline joins jasmine and incense through the heart of Cobalt Intense, an sweet pairing for a fragrance whose top note starts on plum and violet instead. Bergamot, plum and violet introduce the composition with a fruity, slightly powdery freshness that gives little indication of the smokiness developing underneath. Jasmine, incense and praline carry the heart, floral and sweet-smoky at once, an unexpected combination that keeps the composition from settling into any single obvious lane. Cashmere woods, vanilla and ambroxan close the base, warm and smooth, finishing Cobalt Intense on a considerably softer note than its smoky heart suggests. This falls into oriental woody territory, carrying enough weight for evening occasions rather than a quick daytime spray. Cobalt Intense Cologne works well for dinners, formal occasions and any setting calling for a fragrance with noticeable depth. Its incense-and-praline pairing is a distinctly combination rarely found together in fragrances at this price point. Cold weather favors the cashmere and ambroxan base most, when the composition's warmth has room to fully settle. The word intense in the name undersells how much softening happens by the time this fragrance actually reaches its finish.
