Description

Dylan Jeffries names this release Azure, and the composition mostly earns that watery association through an unusually literal core stage. Pink pepper, mandarin and rosemary open with a bright, spiced citrus freshness that gives little indication of the aquatic theme to come. Green apple, an aquatic splash accord and midnight artemisia carry the core, watery and slightly bitter, introducing that oceanic concept directly by name. White musk, sandalwood, dark tonka bean and amberwood round things out warm and smooth, giving Azure Cologne a comforting finish despite its watery core. Aquatic aromatic is the fitting classification, casual enough for daytime wear across nearly every season. It suits gym sessions, casual outings and everyday errands about equally, given how uncomplicated the whole composition stays. Spring and summer favor the aquatic core most, though the tonka and amberwood close keeps it wearable into cooler months too. Naming an accord directly after its concept is an unusually on-the-nose choice, but it works well enough here.
