About Giorgio Beverly Hills

Giorgio Beverly Hills was founded in 1961 by Fred Hayman and George Grant. Hayman bought out Grant a year after the opening of the brand. This iconic fragrance brand opened at 273 Rodeo Drive when it was nothing more than an ordinary street. By the mid 90s, however, other luxury stores — like Gucci and Tiffany — opened stores next-door and so began the Beverly Hills lifestyle. The store featured an area for men to amuse themselves with a pool table and bar while women shopped and the store had the signature white and yellow striped awning that has become so recognizable. In 1981 the signature Giorgio Beverly Hills cologne “Giorgio” was launched. Just 6 years after that, the Giorgio Beverly Hills fragrance brand was bought by Avon, and 7 years after that it was acquired by Procter and Gamble and combined with other luxury fragrance brands into the P&G Prestige Beauté division.
