About Dana

The House of Dana was founded in Barcelona Spain in 1932 by Javier Serra, a pioneer in the beauty industry. He named the company Dana, after the Greek goddess Danae, mother of Perseus. Danae was a great beauty and her name is a symbol for female beauty around the world. The well-known Spanish artist, Mariano Andreu, designed the company's first logo which featured a stylized silhouette of the goddess Danae. Today, Javier Serra's original dream is alive and well in Dana. His philosophy of "working with the most talented people, developing original products, and packaging them with style" is at the heart of everything we do. With Serra's vision in mind, we are once again creating brands that focus on beauty, originality and excitement. Staying true to the heritage and integrity of our classic brands, we are on a path of newness. It begins with British Sterling H.I.M. and continues with the forthcoming Chantilly Eau de Vie.
